Artist Statement
This picture is like a traditional game card, representing two sides of the same thing. In love sometimes we only see what we want, what could be rather than what is. The eyes themselves are reflections in a mirror, and while they are often called the windows to the soul, they can also be deceptive. Somehow, the words of love we hear may never actually reach their eyes. The color red is often associated with love and passion, but it's also the color of power or luck, two things often involved in love. |
Winniefred is a multidimensional artist navigating words and images in a world where all art is free from boundaries. They write, create clothes, videos, photographs but also lace pieces, because art is limitless in this existence. And as such, their poetry is full of images, the visual aspect and the words merging into one, again and again.
