Sun Goddess

Angela Patera
Picture
Artist's Statement
My painting depicts a sun goddess inspired by ancient Greek mythology. Her dress is designed by me and the jewels that decorate her are inspired by ancient jewelry. Her long golden hair shines brightly like the sun itself. The scepter is the source of her power, with it she controls the sun - directing the sunbeams to the Earth. This mixed media painting is done with watercolors, gel pens and colored pencils.

Angela Patera is a self taught artist whose art has appeared in numerous publications, as well as on the cover of Selenite Press and Penumbra Online. Her art usually draws inspiration from the genres of horror and fantasy, but also from folklore and nature. You can find her on both Twitter and Instagram as: @angela_art13
